How to Build a Practical Go-Bag

Define the bag's job
A go-bag should support a short, hurried departure and the trip to a safer location. It does not need to solve every emergency. Consider weather, transportation, household ages, disability, medical needs, pets, and local hazards.
Build and test it
Organize water, shelf-stable food, basic first aid, safe lighting, communication, clothing, hygiene, copies of important documents, planning materials, and personal necessities. Use generic labels instead of storing document numbers or medical details online.
